Winter Reading Recommendation

Dee Henderson has NO CLUE who I am! But I know who she is - an extremely talented author whom Christ is using exactly for His purpose. If you want an incredible book series to complete during the dark, cold winter months... consider the O'Malley Series. And don't just start with Book 1, there is a preliminary book to read before you even start the first book in the series (I'm sure a bookstore clerk can help you locate the series).

So often as Christians, we feel so ill-equipped to respond to other's doubts about Christ. I always want to get in their face and say "I know it's true because the Bible says so!"... but guess what? If they don't believe in the bible, then there is not much credibility in that statement for someone who questions God's very existence. Also, they need to know why YOU believe God is real, and his word is eternal. She so elegantly gives examples of how we can respond in each of her O'Malley series books. Sometimes, it's to say nothing at all at the moment and wait for God to present an appropriate moment.

I promise you will NOT regret the time you invest in this series!

Whew, holidays are over and I've finally had time to focus a bit on getting this book out. Kindness is a thing that is so difficult for me to teach my 5 and 7 year old! This book was inspired, of course, by raising my own kids... it's my attempt to put some of their behaviors in front of them and show how ugly it is to treat people poorly. Then show them how they should be kind to people instead. My kids are growing up in a much different world than I did, where simple acts of kindness are more rare. We can all experience Christ... one word at a time.

God Makes Connections!

This has been an interesting God-led week! I've hooked up with GiG Productions, a full-service music production, Indie label and artist management company out of California. They have worked with companies such as Warner Chapel Music, Sony, Paramount, Cartoon Network , VH1 and Univision Music!

Are you wondering what the connection is? Yeah, me too... I'm anxiously awaiting for God's plan to reveal itself! In the meantime, GiG has produced a pretty classy debut article for me that will go across the wire today and tomorrow (I'll get the link posted when it comes out!), as well as has an editor reviewing a manuscript for publication. But that's not even the story...

Listen to this: The person who is now CEO of GiG Productions was my Call Center Manager 17 years ago in San Diego and Tucson! He was the first person to demonstrate faith in my abilities by promoting me to a Call Center Supervisor at the young age of 24. How he brought us out of the software/technical support world to where we are now is mind-boggling and I'm just in awe of His plan! What a blessing it is to see how He wove purpose so many years ago to be used for his glory now... God is so good!!

Timberlee Myers has been frantically working to finalize the illustrations for this first book in my 'Pocketful of Jesus' series. I wanted to share a sneak peek into what the last page of this book will bring to your children:

Ah, it's been a blessing writing my first children's series of books... but finding JUST THE RIGHT illustrator was a whole other task! After much review and prayer, I was led to Timberlee Myers who has a beautiful talent of placing images on paper, just as she reads them. Check out her work at www.timberleemyers.com, truly an amazing talent! "Pocketful of Jesus" is going to be an absolutely incredible publication once all four books are completed... please pray that the words from these books will touch children, and plant those seeds of faith for God to grow!

I'm making my final pass through "Weeds to Willows", and think I've changed my mind about using a photograph for a book cover. I have an intriguing idea that you will just have to wait and see! In either case, I need to step up the editing process to get it off to the publisher so I can reach out to the teens and help them discover and trust God's provisions.
